Our story

I give back what I needed most.

locarno
Zola is a place to come back to yourself

Zola begins in Locarno, a studio built for movement, breath and the quiet relief of being yourself. But coming back to yourself is not bound to one room. It is a community. It is the podcast, with you wherever you are. It is the book, waiting whenever you need it. And it is the places we are seeking out and testing, so one day you can come home to yourself in studios beyond our own. Different doors, one invitation: come back to yourself.

locarno
The place

Warm light, room to breathe.

The studios

A room shaped to soften you. Curves instead of corners, warm light instead of glare, and a halo of light on the wall that breathes as you do.

Why we began in Locarno.

There are places that ask you to keep up, and places that let you slow down. Locarno is the second kind. The light here is soft and low, the lake holds the morning, and the southern rhythm gives the body room to breathe. Zola began here because the place already does half the work, you arrive, and something in you settles before the practice has even begun.

What we believe

Move. Feel. Think. Evolve.

Move: a controlled Pilates shape on the mat, lit from the side

Move

We start with the body, because the body is the fastest way back to the present. Breath, strength, repetition. When you move with attention, the noise quiets and you arrive.

Feel: two people close together in a quiet, held shape

Feel

To be seen without performing is rare. Here you are met as you are, in a room of people doing the same brave, ordinary thing.

Think: a seated figure in stillness, warm light behind

Think

Movement makes space to think. Patterns surface, something loosens, and you understand yourself a little better than you did an hour ago.

Evolve: a slow reach upward, the halo glowing behind

Evolve

Nothing here is about fixing you. It is about growing with your own rhythms, season by season, in your own time.

Wherever you are

Coming back to yourself should not stop when you travel.

Same feeling, different doors

When you travel, you still want a room that holds you the way this one does. So we are quietly seeking out and testing studios that share the same standard and the same feeling, so one day Zola is wherever you are.

The same standard, the same feeling, in places beyond our own.

Being known

Coming back to yourself is rarely something you do on your own. It happens in a room full of people who are not performing for each other, who arrive as they are and make space for you to do the same. You find each other slowly, over a shared class, a passing word, a familiar face on a Tuesday morning. What you give each other is small and steady: company, encouragement, and the quiet relief of being known.

Whenever you are ready, begin where you are.

Book your first class, or meet Madeleine for a quiet conversation first.
