Questions

Before you come.

Do I need experience to start?

No. Most classes welcome complete beginners, and our teachers quietly adjust for every body in the room. Unsure where to start? Book a free intake and we will guide you.

What should I bring?

Something comfortable to move in, and a water bottle if you like. Mats, blocks, straps, bolsters and blankets are all here. For Reformer, grip socks are the one thing worth bringing.

What is the difference between Matwork and Reformer?

Matwork uses your own weight on the mat, with small props to add or ease resistance. Reformer uses a spring-loaded machine, so the resistance can be set to the body in front of it. Matwork builds control from the ground up. Reformer supports and challenges in equal measure. Both are Pilates, and you can move between them freely.

Where do classes take place?

In two places. The studio in the heart of Locarno, open from 1 October 2026, and online, live, from wherever you are. Every class in the schedule says which of the two it is.

Can I book online classes from outside Switzerland?

Yes. Online classes run live and you can join from anywhere. Times in the schedule are Central European Time, so it is worth checking the difference before you book. You receive the link once your place is confirmed.

How early should I arrive?

Ten minutes before the start is plenty. It gives you time to leave the day at the door, settle on your mat and say hello. If it is your first Reformer class, come fifteen minutes early so your teacher can set the machine up with you.

What is your cancellation policy?

Free cancellation up to two hours before the class starts. After that the class counts as taken, so the place can go to someone else in good time. If something unexpected happens, write to Madeleine.

Whenever you are ready, begin where you are.

Book your first class, or meet Madeleine for a quiet conversation first.
