Spring-loaded resistance, slow and precise. You leave standing a little taller than you came in.

What the class is like

The reformer is a bed on rails with springs underneath it. The springs can help you or resist you, which means the same exercise can be gentle on one day and demanding on the next. That is the point of it.

You work lying down, kneeling, standing, often on one side at a time. The pace is slow because the detail matters more than the count. Most of the effort goes into the parts of you that usually stay quiet.

Classes are for three people at most, so you are seen. If something in your body needs a different version of a movement, say so and you will get one.

Madeleine teaches the Reformer classes. She also gives private Reformer sessions.
